Research project on “Social innovation on the Active Aging of the elderly in the area of responsibility of the Office of Academic Promotion and Support 4”, was created to study the social and cultural context for the use of innovation on the Active Aging of the elderly. Studying social innovations regarding the elderly in terms of the Active Aging of the elderly and to create a model of social innovation in the Active Aging of the elderly. This research is applied research by qualitative study. Data was collected by using in-depth interviews. Lesson transcripts and small group discussion was used in-depth interviews with 1). 30 elderly role models in self-reliance. 2). 18 local administrative organizations with strong elderly operations. 3). Executives of the Department of Elderly Affairs. 4). 1 of establishment that takes care of foreign elderly people. 5). 2 of foreign elderly people who come to live in Thailand, by using on focus groups and learn lessons with the officials responsible for elderly work. Provincial Social Development and Human Security Offices in all 6 provinces, Provincial Public Health Offices in all 6 provinces, Community Development Offices in all 6 provinces, as well as various volunteers in the area. For data analysis, descriptive data analysis was used. The research results found that; 1. Social innovation for the elderly includes the lifestyle of the elderly, consisting of dimensions of physical health, mental health, and participation in social activities. Creation of the environment, public utilities, and residential amenities and the community provides support, including allowing the elderly to have their own careers and income. And use of various technologies to enable the elderly to live on their own with a good quality of life. The social innovations regarding the Active Aging of the elderly can be summarized as follows; 1) To have a good health; Having the knowledge to take care of their own physical and mental health. Awareness of changes occurring in the elderly because medicine has progressed, making it possible for the elderly to live longer. In addition, families and the elderly take care of each other, such as choosing exercise that is appropriate for their age. Strict/controlling the eating of food adequate rest. Doing activities with family members calming the mind. Don't think too little, etc. Also, to creating awareness of caring for the elderly for families and communities. To encourage everyone to have good conscience in taking better care of the elderly along with quality-focused development. There are contributing factors and support from the government, such as living allowances for the elderly. Medical care welfare for the elderly according to the rights of civil servants and the National Health Assurance Project (Gold Card). Funeral management welfare for the elderly. There is government support from the Department of Elderly Affairs that drives operations at the provincial and area levels, namely supporting the traditional funeral arrangements of the elderly. Assisting the elderly in difficult situations. Adjusting the environment and facilities of the elderly to be appropriate and safe. Supporting the Social Welfare Development Center to care for the elderly in the area. Support mechanisms for developing the elderly in the community (Center for Quality of Life Development and Career Promotion for the Elderly). Promoting the role and developing the potential of network organizations on the elderly through the anti-aging network and the elderly. Developing knowledge skills ability to work and being an elderly person is powerful. Including the establishment of a care center for the elderly in the community (Day Care) with the objective of creating a new system to provide care and protection for the elderly in the community. To promote and encourage various agencies and sectors in the area to have responsibility and play a role in caring for and protecting the elderly in their own area. and to develop a model for caring for the elderly with community participation. 2) Participation; Social activities may take many forms, such as setting up clubs/professional groups. Participating in various recreational activities with modern technology. Supporting community work through collaborative learning, such as setting up an accounting system for village funds, teaching Pali language, and inheriting various types of wisdom. Conflict mediation, mindfulness therapy, going outside to help the elderly in providing health care advice, self-care, adapting to society is like helping society. Makes they feel proud that they are beneficial to society. Makes the elderly not feel abandoned. Being able to live with close people or friends of the same age means that the elderly does not have to feel too much adjustment and understand the condition of their body; which is an important form of mental service in the future. There is the government support from the Department of Elderly Affairs regarding to upgrade the school for the elderly as a learning resource in the community for truly promote lifelong learning for the elderly. The working group consists of the elderly, community leaders and people in the area. 3) To have stability or security in their life. Elderly people prepare for becoming elderly, including financial preparation, residential side by saving money or investing when you are of working age. Having a regular income (Pension workers/trading/Sufficiency Economy Learning Center/Farmers). Planting economic trees (Rosewood, Makha, Pradu). Adjusting homes to be safe and clean. Purchasing savings lottery/bonds etc., in order to be able to rely on oneself when entering the elderly state. 2. The process of creating appropriate opportunities to enhance quality of life and well-being when entering the elderly according to the principles of Active Aging of the World Health Organization (WHO) as follows: 2.1 Health aspect includes maintaining one's health both physically and mentally. Taking care of the daily routine, optimism (positive thinking), self-reliance, good relationships in the family. Before becoming elderly, they must prepare to become an elderly person. Adapting when they feel stressed. 2.2 Participation aspect includes; 1) Participating in various community activities such as senior citizens' schools. Community groups/clubs. Being a volunteer in religious and traditional activities. 2) Social grouping, such as making a living, helping people experiencing problems. Gather into groups to solve community problems. 2.3 Security and income guarantees include having sufficient income to support themselves. To have a savings plan. There is education and learning to keep up with the technology era (IT). Access to various government services. Living in an appropriate environment (appropriate housing), safety in life/property when participating in activities. 3. Guidelines for promoting, creating and developing models of social innovation in the field of Active Aging include: 1) Strengthen cooperation to strengthen the elderly organization. 2) Promote the network to develop work on the elderly and develop personnel working on the elderly, such as training to provide knowledge about psychology and basic care of the elderly, etc. 3) Promote teachers with the wisdom of the elderly in educational institutions. 4) Linking social organizations to involve all sectors. 5) Building a central house or certified location community level elderly. 6) Create a city that is friendly to the elderly (building design transportation location). 7) Stimulate and inspire towards sustainability and stability. 8) Develop a central database system for the elderly, linking all units to be able to access them quickly and conveniently. 9) Develop an efficient community-based care system for the elderly in the community. 10) Expanding and integrating innovation to use in the community in a concrete way. 11) Push the concept of 3 owners: the host of each project, the host who shares merit with the network, and every owner is the owner of the innovation of the ancient people for concrete success. 4. Social innovation in the Active Aging of self-reliance of the elderly in the area of responsibility of the Office of Academic Promotion and Support 4 can be divided into 6 categories (according to the development of innovations for the elderly and options for reducing inequality of the Thai elderly of Professor Rapeepan Khamhom, Professor Woralak Charoensri and Associate Professor Lek Sombat, Faculty of Social Sciences Thammasat University) including; 1). health innovation 2). Community welfare innovation, 3). Local wisdom innovation. 4). Environmental innovation/housing, 5). Innovation creates income and careers, and 6). Innovation promotes savings. Suggestions for research. The results of this research study will be the basis for organizing activities or projects in the area/community or school for the elderly to strengthen the vitality of the Active Aging Policy recommendations. 1. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security promotes the Center for Quality of Life Development and Career Promotion for the Elderly (SDC) as a center for elderly people who still have concrete power to support the mechanism driving work in the area to develop the quality of life of the elderly. 2. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security should establish a Center for Quality of Life Development and Career Promotion for the Elderly (SOC) to cover the density of the elderly population. Suggestions for next research. There should be a long-term study and quantitative measures are included to create a more appropriate innovation model.
